dorkly.com was the sister-site of College Humor. It featured articles and webcomics about video games and nerd culture.[1] Like College Humor, Dorkly also had a YouTube channel where they posted animated sketches and video essays.

Julia was the head illustrator at Dorkly for most of its existence.

In January 2019, Dorkly announced that they would no longer be adding new articles to the site, the YouTube channel would now be their focus.[2]

In January 2020, IAC took the decision to no longer fund Dorkly. Almost all of the staff were laid-off and the website was shut down.[3] The YouTube channel continued to exist but in a reduced capacity.

Notable Contributors[]

Julia joined the Dorkly staff in the site’s first year.[4] She drew many comics and provided illustrations for articles. For a brief period, she was even Dorkly’s sole employee.

She eventually moved over to Drawfee full-time, but still contributed to Dorkly when her schedule allowed.[5]

Other Dorkly staff members included Tristan Cooper, Justin Hall, Tony Wilson and Jake Young.

Drawfee Crossovers[]

The Dorkly staff shared an office with College Humor and Drawfee so collaborations were common. Caldwell, Nathan, Jacob and Julia would often feature in Dorkly videos.
